Hello and welcome back to the Poppy Palmer Blog, today I have a brilliant new product to show you. It is the Chef’n Sweet Spot Ice Cream Maker. When I saw this product I thought oh my god that is the coolest thing ever. It doesn’t use any electricity and you can use it as many times as you like. So first of all you have to put it into the freezer for at least 24 hours the first time and make sure it is on a flat surface or it will not set properly and warp or crack. So mine has been in the freezer for over 24 hours and as you can see it is a heavy large flat disk that contains this extra freeze liquid.
So to make the ice cream you have to make a simple quick mixture today I am going to show you 4 flavours and the first one is strawberry. So to make that you need 500 grams of strawberries and ¾ cup of sugar and you need to muddle those together, then you need to blend the strawberries and sugar mixture with 2 cups of double cream and 1 cup of milk and that is it. So to make the ice cream you need your sweet spot ice cream maker and take 1 cup of the strawberry ice cream mixture and pour into the base. Use the cute little tools provided and start to stir the ice cream around the base and scrap the ice cream until it freezes. Oh my god it is freezing already that is so cool. So this has taken me about 2 minutes and I have made delicious ice cream. And it tastes amazing.
So the next flavour I am going to show you is a dairy free raspberry sorbet. So to make this mixture you need to blend 500 grams of raspberries with ¾ cup of sugar and a squeeze of lemon. So pour 1 cup of the raspberry sorbet mixture onto the ice cream maker and stir around until it will freeze. This one will take a little longer as it has a high sugar content and low fat content. And it takes delicious.
The next flavour I am going to show you is mint chocolate chip. So to make that mixture you need to make a vanilla base but add peppermint essence. So you need 2 cups of double cream and 1 cup of milk and to that add 1 teaspoon of peppermint essence. Again pour 1 cup of the mixture onto the base of the ice cream maker and start to stir. When the mixture is half frozen add some chocolate chips and stir those in. This is my favourite flavoured ice cream as it is really creamy and refreshing at the same time.
So the final flavour today I am going to show you is of course chocolate. This is the only mixture you have to actually cook because you use cocoa powder so bring to the boil half a cup of cocoa powder with 2 cups of cream and 1 cup of milk and ¾ cup of sugar and then put it into the fridge until it is cold. Pour 1 cup of the mixture onto the base of the ice cream make and stir until it is frozen. This is probably my favourite chocolate ice cream because it isn’t too sweet and is super chocolate.
